Jonathan's Doctor Visit

 Thursday, was Jonathan's 5 yr old check up and a visit to a new doctor. This yr he  was MUCH better there.  Last year he hid under the chair and wouldn't get weighed etc...  This year they did all the screenings knowing he will be going to Kindergarten in the fall . Ears and Eyes and a few shots too.   He didn't like that much but will have to go back for the last set.  Which is because he's allergic to the P  (pertussis) in the DTaP shot  and they only have DTaP  shots there so its a special order....

 I have been asked how do I know that he's allergic to the pertussis  when I tell this.   At  2 months old  he had  the shots and  about an hour or 2 after he started screaming high pitched pain scream. Took off his pants to find both legs where the shots were swollen.  One was definately worse that  the other. Called the doctor, tylenol was given, ice packs used...and he still screamed for almost 3 hrs.(which is what it states on the sheets they give you to look for about them having a reaction)  Doctor strongly  suspected the pertussis  and the rest of his shots till he was a year were given separately. He still had some swelling and crying episodes but NOTHING like the first one.

Having the hearing test, passed that and the eye test with flying colors!
