Halloween Party at School

Jonathan is dressed at the Army Ranger

Watching intently/  He was very good sitting there.

Superman

Totally forgot I had these costumes.  The pirate I got this summer at a garage sale. I didn't buy it, the person doing the garage sale thought he was so cute and handed it to me.  It occurred  to me one night that I had a pirate costume.  The other was this one.  I thought I had gotten rid of it but it was there too.  So I had to get Alex in this costume

This PICTURE is JONATHAN at the same age........
same costume, same date.....
They look SO much alike

Happy Halloween

Sitting

He did this....He climbed up his slide and sat like this.....

Where was Andrew today??? He was at his High school football game again.
They won which means they are going to New Era field next week. Andrew is totally excited.

Games

Alex LOVED the golf game.  He wanted to play it over and over.  Didn't get any pics as I was fighting with him to give others a try.
I hated taking off his Lion costume. He was too cute in it.  He got tons of attention in it. But he was miserable and being miserable. so the pumpkin shirt will have to do.

Power VISTA Spooktacular

I didn't have much choice of were to go. I wanted another trip to the pumpkin patch  but with it raining and Alex getting over what he had especially the breathing part it had to be inside.

Getting Checked out

So the doctors office called and wanted him to be seen from his little adventure yesterday.  Obviously doing much better. Still mucousy  but for the most part much better.   Steroids are messing with him so he's been off.  My usually happy sweet boy has been grumpy, whiny and totally through his sleep off. They will recheck him again this week.  You got everybody scared little guy. The thing is he really wasn't wheezing at all.  He sounded gunky at times .

Resting

abuterol on the go. Its good they asked me if I knew how to use this thing however being a respiratory therapist I better.
Watching videos and relaxing.  He mostly wanted to be held and cuddled all evening.  Its been a long day little guy.

On the Mend

They checked him out as I held him and he finally fell asleep after they gave him tylenol and steriods.
Took the mask off and kept an eye on his stats

I asked about a chest xray and they said it didn't sound like pnemonia so they weren't doing one and that it was viral so no antibiotics.  Part of me knows they are against antibiotics but he's had cold for over 2 weeks?? I figure if he's still bad I will talk to the pediatrician and get some.  He has to go back for a follow up anyway.  She was going to send him for a chest x-ray and I think thought they would do it.....  so since he was doing better they sent him home.
They are calling it Reactive Airway Disease  (RAD) and a viral infection. We will see,

Sick

Both Alex and Jon have had colds. Jon has an awful cough and Alex has had nasty boogers for awhile.  Alex slept horrible last night.  Cried and tossed and turned all night.    When he woke up this morning he didn't come out with a smile on his face and playing like he normally does.  He lied on the bed and moaned.  I picked him up and held him, he shook and moaned more.  Knew he was sick. He was getting very warm.  He moaned, shook and lied there like a limp noodle half asleep and awake.  In a daze.  His breathing seemed off.  Figured it was a sinus infection going bad.... I do have a pulse ox at home and did it on him and it was reading he was lower than he should be.

The other kids got ready for school and I made an appointment for him to be seen at his pediatrician.   If we couldn't get in soon I was going to take him to an urgent care. I really didn't want to go to Children's Hospital and wait around.  So I got dressed and went to the appointment totally forgetting my cell phone.  I was worried about him.

The doctor checked him out and did a pulse ox too.  It was low like I had gotten so they did a nebulizer treatment and gave him some motrin.   They waited a bit and checked him again.  As we waited I could tell his breathing wasn't right.  He was breathing fast and shallow.  He sounded gunky. His respiratory rate was high.  They got him some oxygen and decided he needed to be seen at Children's Hospital so they called an ambulance.

I called home to tell Dennis but didn't get an answer.  I decided to drive instead of taking the ambulance since I wouldn't have a car and didn't have my phone and would meet  them there.  Poor little guy.  So brave, first ambulance ride, no mommy.  They told me he did well on the ride, held their hand and had another nebulizer treatment on the way to the hospital.
I brought his favorite blankie.   He still had a fever even after getting the motrin. He laid there like this.  He's on oxygen through the nebulizer

Carving Pumpkins

Trick or Treating at the Mall

So we went to the Walden Galleria Mall Gallery of Treats.  I took just Alex as I knew it would be packed when Jon got home and I wanted to carve the pumpkins . He is an adorable little lion

He wanted to be held by the bee.  I held him up next to the Bee and the bee held out his hand s to hold him and he went.
