She has had a tough year. back in January she got very sick and almost didn't make it. She thought she had pneumonia around Christmas time and the doctors treated her as such. However she has Rheumatoid Arthritis and her medication wipes out her immune system. The bacteria traveled to her brain and caused an abscess and lesions on her brain. They operated on her brain to take the abscess out (why she is wearing a hat in the picture) she spent a good week in the ICU and it was touch and go for awhile. They finally sent her to rehab and had to learn how to walk again. Mind you all of this with rheumatoid arthritis and no longer having the medication to help keep those symptoms away. She worked hard to come back. No longer using a cane or walker. So not only a milestone birthday but also grateful to still be around.
