No sleep for you!

Some nights are better than others. This night was not a good one.  Sometimes we are extra hungry or extra gassy and it wakes us up over and over.  I think this one was an extra gassy one followed by a diaper blow out later that morning.

But till that happened.......good morning world  its 5 am and I'm up and so are you

Just Chillin

Around 7pm  he gets fussy and has had it with the world and wants to be all snuggled up.... Starting to be part of his nighttime routine.   Then he stops crying and looks like this till he drifts off to sleep

I love his hair sticking up all over. I think its getting lighter.

Happy baby

We had a bath and some pain reliever medicine   and are getting ready for bed. Doing a little happy dance as our booties are off.  I still want to use these cute pj's so I take his feet out add socks and put on the booties rolling the legs up./
Till they are back on ....we dance!

But mommy I am GROWING

So today we went to the Doctor.  He is now 9lbs 5 oz and 20"  head circumference 15.5. He is just about at the 1-3% for everything.  Now I have had the 2 extremes

Andrew was 97-100% in everything.  To think Andrew was 9lbs 3oz 21"  and Head Circumference of 16. Alex is basically now the size of Andrew was when Andrew was born.....Alex is now over 2 months old.

And as always.....outside of him being small and the clubbed feet.... he's perfect.

Luckily for me this one didn't have a problems with shots like Jonathan did.   Thank goodness I don't think that plus the AFO's would be good.
He was fussy but nothing that giving him some Tylenol didn't fix.

Hockey time

Jonathan found what to do with his money he's been saving up. Goalie pads.
 All my hockey fan boys.
I love this picture (yes he still fits in Build a bear clothes. Couldn't find Sabres stuff his size.)

Before and After

So the doctor changed how the bar is now since Alex could slip his feet out of the first one. As you can see he didn't like this any better. I know we are making it more difficult for you to get out of these.  The next ones give him more movement. Problem is he has to grow more.
When I'm frustrated I like to be snuggled in my snuggie and just be held.

So I looked up Clubbed feet and read a little more.  I guess I get frustrated too at times having a little guy that has to have these braces on.  It is a BIG inconvenience at times.  I can't do the carrier all that much. Although I have to say its been his size and not the brace that was the problem but popping him in that quick....nope.   Footies pj's or any pants that have the feet covered.... not easy. Snowsuit. Yeah that's out. So to go to the Maple farm in the snow.  Forget it.

The one thing mom's with babies that had this recommended was the Halo sleepwear.  The snuggie IS the Halo sleepwear. It holds his brace and for some reason   he feels secure and calms him down. Now he knows if its on its bed time.  Sometimes we use it during the day if he has trouble settling down and is frustrated and overtired.  Babies like to kick their feet and he can't, he's not one to just give up and say oh well I guess I can't do that. No.....that would be too easy. He's a fighter, but we knew  that.  This was also given to me when I came home from the hospital. I was expecting a diaper bag as usual but they gave me that and I didn't think we would use it at all.   I'm so happy we have it now

Science Museum

I really wanted to take them to another Maple Syrup Farm but since I got goodies yesterday and it was cold and snowy today I couldn't with the baby so we went to the science museum and played for awhile

Not the Doctors Again!

Time for the Ortho doctor.  This time he was yelling and screaming most of the time there and managed to slip his foot halfway out of one of the booties..... So the doctor changed the angle to a more favorable position and said he was border line for having surgery on the tendon in the back of his heel to release it.  He really doesn't want to do it as he's so small and if its borderline take a chance it could possibly stretch out.  He seems to like the newer position  more(not pictured here) as its more natural than this position.
